DUAL is a real-time performance composition based on a doctoral thesis on creative movement as a tool to prevent motor and brain aging by dancer Álvaro Murillo. Body, mind, pain, action, movement, thought, perception, transformation, duality, improvisation, sound, and dynamics are the starting points for a live creation in situ.

The doctoral thesis on which the choreographic work is based is entitled: Motor and Brain Aging in Dual Tasks with Physical Exercise, Dance, and Creativity in People with Fibromyalgia. This thesis was written at the University of Extremadura by Álvaro Murillo.

This project has been selected by the New Media Laboratory of Trayectos, Zaragoza International Contemporary Dance Festival, for the first phase of research, with an artist residency at the Etopia Art and Technology Center (Zaragoza).

The work has also been in residence at the A Casa Vella choreography center (Amiadoso, Ourense).

It premiered at the Escenas do Cambio Festival in the Ciudad de la Cultura (Santiago de Compostela,Spain) on May 5, 2024.
